The China Horologe Association is the watch industry arm of China's National Council of Light Industry and directs and coordinates the Chinese watch and clock industry. The CHA has over 240 members including in-house and OEM manufacturers of complete watches and clocks as well as parts, equipment, tooling and instrument manufacturers. Members also include concerned agencies, universities and research institutes. Ron is grateful to be the very first non-Chinese person ever provided a membership in the CHA (honorary), which was received in recognition of his studies and support of the Chinese watch and clock industry over a number of years. He is also noted as a Visiting Scholar by the Association. In April 2018, Ron was designated Sino-Canadian Horological Cultural Affairs Advisor to the Guangzhou Watches and Clocks Association

In March of 2016, Ron was named Chief Expert of the China Watch Overseas Working Committee (CWOWC) , a formally instituted Working Committee under the direction of the CHA, tasked with promoting Chinese horological information in western markets.
Translation First Page:
In recent years, the China Horologe Association witnessed that the enthusiasm of the overseas clock and watch collector’s attention has been caused, and through their main website, they widely publicized Chinese clocks and watches products, supporting the development of domestic clocks and watches. What they have done is advantageous for Chinese products' development in the world market, and they have received welcomes from the Chinese clock and watch brands. In order to integrate sources at home and abroad, doing some further service for the industry development, strengthening the construction of the committee, and promoting the work effectively, we decided to establish an overseas working group. This decision was proposed by the Chinese Horologe Association, and maintain the admission from the Office of Collection Commission. Now arrange the related things as below: Part One. Name: - China Watch Overseas Working Committee Part Two. Assignment: 1. This group takes the responsibility of promoting the Chinese horologe culture to the countries its members are located in. This also includes the development of Chinese horologe brands and their advantages or any related matters. 2. This group organizes the communication between horologe collectors from the countries of its members and Chinese collectors; 3. Write features and news or other kinds of articles about related business areas and post it on magazines or websites. 4. Carry out all kinds of works delegated by China Horologe Association of Collection. |
Translation Second Page:

A General History of Horology Edited by: Anthony Turner, James Nye, and Jonathan Betts
Ron was asked to contribute the section on China from 1900 to the present day. With permission form the Editors, Ron happily and gratefully invited noted Vintage Chinese Watch collector Jon Ward to co-contribute the section.
David Chang (Academy Member of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, and the Director of Beijing Collectors' Association) contributed the section covering Chinese timekeeping prior to 1900, and was a great help to our effort as well. Thank you, David.

Ron was featured in an article in The Financial Times: The unlikely Chinese-Canadian bromance based on watches
Ron was also featured in a video interview with EastWatchReview:
Mr Good was also featured in a Chinese article "Bethune of the Watch Industry" by Chinese horological writer A.J.
Note from Mr. Good on the article and the translation:
"Although the machine translation has a few errors (for example, sometimes substituting "I" or "it" for "he." in places) the spirit of the article shines through, and generally captures my feelings about China very well. Even before I became known as "Bethune in the watch industry," before really anyone in China knew me at all, and from the very first hours of my very first visit, I have always been treated kindly and with great openness by everyone I've met in China. That has never changed--but I've learned from the Chinese people and I have changed. And I'm grateful."
