Sept 13 2023 Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College, and more
During my time in Tianjin, I was very kindly taken by my friend , Mr. Li Quisheng. to the Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College, where he is an expert instructor (Professor) specializing in foreign and domestic timepieces.
We drove directly to the school so I didn't get many photos of the entire campus.
Once we arrived, I was introduced by Mr. Li to Ms. Su Ting, a senior instructor, and Mr. Liu Zhonghai, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, seen here in this photo (l/r: Ms. Su, me, Mr. Li and Mr. Liu).
The College has roughly 16,000 students across all its programs, is very widely recognized as one of the premier technical colleges in China, and has approximately 100 students involved in what was described to me as the most comprehensive horology program in the country given its detailed instruction in both theory and practice across a very wide range of timing devices.
I was advised that students attending the program were involved in other activities at the College that day, and so would not be at the desks--which was good because it allowed the four of us (with the assistance of a wonderful translator, also an instructor at the school but in a different program) to have a lengthy discussion following the tour...and me taking photos didn't disturb classes :-)
That noted, this photo from the website link to the College provided here (click) and above is clearly from the program, but judging by the website date, from prior to 2019.
The following photos are from the visit, roughly in the order of my tour. (Google Translate on your phone will easily read most of this).

Among the connected organizations and agencies, the program has strong input from and cooperation with Tianjin Sea-Gull.
In the post tour discussion, I was extremely pleased but also very surprised to be asked to address the program's students when I next visited Tianjin, and to just advise any dates so they could arrange things. I'm very grateful to Li Quisheng, Liu Zhonghai, Su Ting and everyone I met at the College for their hospitality and assistance making this tour possible for me.
Greater Tianjin is a large city, and the college is a ways away from where I was staying. These photos were taken from Mr. Li's car on the way to the college and on the way back to my hotel.
On the way...
And on the way back to my hotel...
